SOSC 36301 Introduction to Disaster Response and Recovery
This course provides a broad introduction to the field of emergency management. It focuses on the different types of hazards, the individuals and agencies involved in response and recovery operations, human behaviors in disaster situations, hazard detection, warning, evacuation and sheltering, care for the injured, dead, and distressed, management of media relations, donations and volunteers, methods for facilitating recovery and mitigation, and the role of technology.
