Residency for Fee Purposes
A student’s residency status for fee purposes is determined at the time of admission according to the policy recommended by the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education. Copies of the residency policy and petitions for change of residency status are available by request from the Office of Admissions or online at www.nwmissouri.edu/admissions/residency.htm. Petitions and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Office of Admissions prior to the beginning of the term for which the change is desired.
The nonresident student fee may be credited in an amount equal to the actual Missouri income tax paid by the nonresident student or custodial parent for the previous calendar year. Students covered by this policy remain classified as nonresidents and must submit the Missouri income tax return to the Cashiering Office to receive this credit.
