This minor, with the methods course indicated below, prepares you for certification to teach mathematics in grades 9-12 ONLY IF you also have an education major in another field.  Secure a Math Education advisor when declaring this minor.

Note: If MATH 17120 is also used to fulfill a Northwest Core Requirement, the hours may be counted only once toward the 124 required for graduation.

CSIS 44149 has a Northwest Core Requirement for Digital Literacy as a prerequisite.

In addition to the 36 hours, MATH 17580 Methods in Secondary School Mathematics must be completed as a degree requirement.  This minor meets minimum Missouri Certification standards for grades 9-12 when added to an existing secondary education major certification program.  Students should obtain a minor advisor early in the program.
