BIOL 04450 Coastal Ornithology

An introductory, field-oriented ornithology course that explores the highly diverse avian habitats found along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, emphasizing field ecology and behavior. Lectures, laboratory exercises, and field trips will introduce students to techniques including bird-banding, call-broadcast surveys, and other monitoring methodologies. Prerequisites: two semesters of biology or permission of instructor; a course in general ecology is recommended.
