EDCI 62542 Curriculum and Methods in Early Childhood Special Education

This course is designed to develop skills to enable the prospective teacher of the young child with special needs (birth to age five years) to: (1) plan and organize appropriate curriculum content and learning sequences; (2) identify and implement appropriate instructional strategies, techniques, and environments; (3) work effectively with parents and families, as well as other professionals and caregivers, and (4) become knowledgeable about the elements of Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and processes including the legal and ethical aspects. Prerequisite:  EDCI 62326
