SCGD 68631 Practicum in K-12 School Counseling

Provides a supervised school counseling experience in grades K-12 in a school setting.  The school experience provides students an opportunity to practice, develop, demonstrate, and refine counselor skills and competencies important for a practicing school counselor implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. The course requires students to have 200 hours of experiences at either the elementary or secondary level and 100 hours of experiences at the opposite level for a total of 300 hours.  Students are placed to attain experience in all grade levels K-12 , which are compatible with a K-12 level of certification. Prerequisites: SCGD 68628, field practicum application, and consent of advisor. (F, S)
