Credit for External Examinations
Northwest utilizes College Board Advanced Placement Tests (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP) examinations, International Baccalaureate (IB), Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) and General Education Certificate (GCE) Advanced Level Examinations to award credits toward graduation. The AP exam and IB are administered through the student’s high school, while the CLEP may be taken on campus through the Assessment Office or at any other institutional testing center. Students may not receive credit for any of these exams in subject areas already enrolled in at the college level or in which college credit has already been granted; students may not receive credit for CLEP exams retaken less than six months after the previous exam. In order to receive credit, students must supply the Office of Admissions with original score reports from the testing agency.
Northwest does not award credit for all AP, CLEP, IB, DANTES or GCE A-level examinations. Northwest will allow credit for scores on selected exams as follows:
