EDCI 62323 Theory and Techniques of Literacy Assessment and Intervention Middle/Secondary

Candidates in this course will investigate multiple assessment instruments to identify reading and writing challenges and plan effective instruction and intervention for middle school, secondary, and K-12 students. Emphasis is placed upon understanding the major causes of reading challenges and using a variety of assessment strategies to plan and evaluate effective reading and writing instruction. This course requires 3-5 hours of field experience work.  Prerequisite: EDCI 62321 with a grade of C or better.  Corequisite: EDCI 62325.
