Among the issues to be emphasized are: Puritanism, the Enlightenment, the Federalist/Anti-Federalist controversy, 19th century democratic ideas, Social Darwinism, the progressive era, Humanism, New Deal thought, the New Conservatism of the Fifties, and the New Left movement.
