MATH 17145 Computational Reasoning and Data

An introduction to the basic techniques of computational mathematics using programming and discipline specific software.  The material is presented from a problem-solving perspective with examples from the applied sciences.  Topics to be covered include matrix computations, data fitting techniques, data analysis, graphics, and statistics.  Prerequisite: MATH 17117 or MATH 17118 or MATH 17120 or consent of instructor.
