LANG 14457 Latin American Civilization II

This course examines a wide range of modern and contemporary issues relating to Latin American culture, with emphasis on the various Latin American independence movements and subsequent historical developments. Students will read a variety of texts that address the influence of the Spanish-speaking world on the U.S. in the 21st century as well as the various critical social and cultural issues confronting Latin America. Prerequisite: LANG 14243.
